My dog had picked up a digestive upset which I think was caused from cleaning his feet after walking through some stagnant water when we moving a tree in some boggy ground. He has been having problems with his digestion on and off since we rescued him at 12 months old but this time the usual things we try only worked temporarily. Symptoms of diarrhoea and sickness (particularly first thing in the morning when the stomach was empty) kept returning. His appetite was also diminished with him not eating much of the time so I needed to try something else. I heard about maxxidigest on Facebook through Sport Dog Nutrition and it seemed like it might be worth a try. The hardest thing was getting him to eat as it needed to be added to his food so I put him on a cooked diet of chicken, rice and sweet potato for a week which seemed to be more acceptable to him than his usual raw diet. Since then he has gradually improved and is eating his normal diet, still with maxxidgest added (at least until the pot runs out and then I will try without) and his digestive system seems to be good again. If your dog suffers similarly I would say maxxidigest is definitely worth trying
My Flatcoat often has a rumbling, gurgling, distended tummy after eating, especially in the evening. I have been using Maxxidigest for a month now and his tummy seems to have settled a lot, less noisy, and he appears to be more comfortable after his evening meal. It hasn’t stopped completely - still the occasional evening with rumblings - but there certainly has been an improvement and I will continue to use.
